Premier League table 2023-24: Latest standings and results as Tottenham go top on matchday 9

Tottenham are in first place of the Premier League table after beating Fulham 2-0.

Spurs edge two points clear of Arsenal and Manchester City, who had Erling Haaland was back amongst the goals as they recorded a 2-1 win over Brighton on the weekend.

Chelsea had drawn with Arsenal on Saturday in a hugely encouraging display for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who do appear to have turned a corner of late.

Liverpool were not quite at their best during the Merseyside derby at Anfield but a brace from Mohamed Salah ensured Jurgen Klopp's side claimed all three points.

Crystal Palace were smashed by Newcastle on Tyneside, while Brentford beat Burnley, Bournemouth were beaten by Wolves and Nottingham Forest were held to a late draw by Luton. Manchester United then snatched a late win at Sheffield United.

Sunday in the Premier League proved slightly quieter as West Ham’s loss at Aston Villa was the only game on the schedule.
