PREP SOFTBALL: Fountain Central beats Southmont

Apr. 18—VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The Fountain Central softball team started slow, but scored all of their runs in the fourth inning of a 9-3 win over Southmont on Thursday.

Kacey Kirkpatrick had 13 strikeouts on the mound for the Mustangs and had two hits and three RBIs. Kearney Foxworthy-DeJournett had two hits and two RBIs, while Braelyn Brooker had two RBIs and Olivia Jones and Lilly Bennett each had two hits.

The Mustangs are 7-5 and will play Lafayette Jefferson on Saturday for a doubleheader.
