PREP SOFTBALL: Hoopeston Area beats Schlarman

Apr. 25—DANVILLE — Maddie Barnes had 12 strikeouts on the mound and two hits at the plate as Hoopeston Area beat Schlarman Academy 3-1 on Thursday.

Barnes and Jersey Cundiff each had two hits and a RBI for the Cornjerkers, while Kinzley Bailey had an RBI.

Regan Troglia and Jelanna Tall each had a hit for the Hilltoppers, who will face Westville on Monday.

The Cornjerkers are 11-10 and will play Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on Monday.
