Matchroom boxing chief Eddie Hearn hailed the 'absolutely fantastic' support from the people of Chorley after thousands roared Jack Catterall on to a fine victory in Manchester on Saturday night.

The 31-year-old light welterweight scored a unanimous points decision over former two-time world champion Regis Prograis in the first boxing headline at the Co-op Live arena.

And afterwards Hearn labelled his man 'the most underrated fighter in the world' and also praised the Lancastrian's humility.

Promoter Hearn told the crowd post-fight: "It was a high-level fight against a proper warrior in Regis Prograis.

"For me Jack Catterall is the most underrated fighter in the world.

"What an 11 months he has had. he has won in Liverpool then beat Josh Taylor in Leeds and now won in Manchester.

"I have to say the support from Chorley has been absolutely fantastic at all of those nights - they have come out in numbers to support their man and what a man he is.

"In these days of flash cars and fancy watches, how good is it to have such a good, humble man representing Chorley?

"Of course, Jack wants a world title shot next and that's what we will aim for.

"I'd love to get Teofimo Lopez here to the Co-op Live - what a fight that would be.

"We have Liam Paro fighting Richardson Hitchins, December 7 in Puerto Rico. The winner of that fight - we want to put that [offer] straight forward to them to fight Jack Catterall next."
