Rangers in brave Real Madrid defeat as Christopher Eadie turns in starring Puskas Suzuki Cup show

Rangers' under-17s put on a brave performance against Real Madrid but succumbed to defeat in the Puskas Suzuki Cup earlier this afternoon.

The young Light Blues were excellent at times against Los Blancos having yesterday mounted an impressive 3-2 comeback win over hosts Puskas Academy. Goal scorer in that game, Christopher Eadie, put in another strong showing with a brace for the youngsters but it wasn't quite enough to see off the Madrid starlets who looked a step above in competition.

Gers did have the lead early doors when Josh Gentles turned the ball across the six-yard box for Eadie to fire home into the near corner to leave the goalkeeper helpless. The lead didn't last too long, though, as the Madrid skipper whipped an exquisite effort into the top corner beyond Alfie Halliwell.

Eadie had the ball in the net for Gers again to go 2-1 up with a thunderous effort into the top left-hand corner of the net before he ran off with a Jude Bellingham-esque celebration. But, again, Madrid came roaring back and it was 2-2 from a set-piece.

Roaring Eadie might've had a hat-trick had the goalie not thwarted him after the break but two more goals - stunners - from the Spanish giants put paid to the Glasgow club's chances and that was that.

A strong outing nevertheless from the young guns.
