Heartbroken Neraysho Kasanwirjo suffered an apparent serious knee injury to leave Rangers facing the prospect of losing the Feyenoord loanee for a significant period.

The versatile defender was left in a crumpled heap in the 79th minute of the Netherlands U21's 1-1 draw with England and appeared on the brink of tears. Kasanwirjo was angling for a half yard in the Three Lions' box but he felt something and collapsed to the deck. The 22-year-old appeared heartbroken as his game was ruled over by the medical team who raced onto the pitch.

Kasanwirjo – who has played both at right-back and in central defence – has established himself as a reliable presence under boss Philippe Clement. But the Feyenoord star appears to left hoping it isn't as severe as it appeared on first viewing. The rise of ACL injuries have left the Rangers faithful looking on with baited breath. Rangers face Dundee United on Saturday and have three games a week until January.
