Rangers transfer round-up as Philippe Clement confirms club eyeing 'lots of players'

Philippe Clement has confirmed Rangers are eyeing up "lots of players" despite admitting no further new signings were imminent.

The Ibrox boss has already added a number of new faces to his squad after insisting on a squad revamp at the end of last season. The likes of Jefte, Hamza Igamane, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly and Oscar Cortes have all arrived but that will unlikely be the end of Gers' spending before the start of the new campaign.

Still, Clement is clear in his message that he and Nils Koppen will continue to monitor would-be signings with a number of players on that list of scoutable stars.

“It’s not a point now to rate [the window]," he said. "The one thing I have learned is to work hard, work hard with the players who are there and you never know how fast things go. You are not in control of that. With players you want you first need to convince them to come and then you need to convince their team that you pay the right amount of money. You can only make an evaluation on September 1.

"That is my reality. Sometimes you do business early, sometimes it can be the last day. It depends on the market. Also, my experience tells me that in the years you have World Cups or Euros, the market starts slower. We have been really busy already with watching a lot of players. Already we have done really good things for the future of the club."

Sam Lammers "won't be able" to recoup the £3.5million spent on his services, meanwhile, as the club get set to cash-in. It's been reported today that they'd jump at the chance to recoup some of the cash and could accept £2mil.
