Raptors sign former lottery pick Justise Winslow to Exhibit 10 deal
Winslow spent last season with the Portland Trailblazers, with previous stops including Los Angeles, Memphis, and Miami.
The Toronto Raptors have announced that they are signing former 10th overall pick Justise Winslow.
Winslow, who was a free agent this summer, spent the last two seasons playing for the Portland Trailblazers. During the 2022-23 campaign, the former Duke Blue Devil averaged 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 29 games for the Blazers.
The Raptors have waived centre Makur Maker and signed forward Justise Winslow. The former 10th-overall pick has bounced around since spending his first 5 seasons in Miami, with stops in Memphis, LAC and Portland over the last 3 years. He’s still just 27.

In a concurrent move, the Raptors waived Makur Maker to make room for Winslow, though the expectation for the former lottery selection is that he will be on an Exhibit 10 deal and spend time with the team’s G League affiliate, the 905, per Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy.
Assuming his contract is a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10, Winslow is eligible to receive a bonus of up to $75,000 if the Raptors were to waive him and eventually spend a minimum of 60 days with Raptors 905.
It is unlikely that Winslow will make the Raptors’ regular season roster, considering Toronto already has 15 players on guaranteed contracts. Additionally, Jeff Dowtin, who impressed during a 25-game stint with the Raptors last season, is currently vying to replace one of the players on a guaranteed contract ahead of opening night next Tuesday.
Nonetheless, Murphy expects the 27-year-old to make the most of his tenure with the 905, as this is an opportunity for him to get back on the NBA’s radar.
In eight seasons in the league, Winslow has played for the Miami Heat, Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Clippers. For his career, he’s averaging 8.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
