Reading to discover county cup quarter-final opponents to kickstart title defence
Reading Under-21s will find out their opponents for the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup tomorrow as the youngsters look to defend their crown.
A historic local competition, non-league clubs from across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire have fought through four rounds to reach this stage, while sides put out by professional clubs MK Dons, Wycombe Wanderers and Reading receive a bye to the last eight stage.
Six of the eight qualifying sides have already been confirmed: Reading, MK Dons, Wycombe Wanderers, Bracknell Town, Beaconsfield Town and Flackwell Heath.
Ascot United and Hungerford Town still need to meet in their fourth round tie after Christmas, as do Binfield and Aylesbury Vale Dynamos.
The draw is due to take place at 2pm tomorrow (Friday) at the county FA headquarters.
Last year, Noel Hunt's Royals defeated Marlow 2-1 at Bottom Meadow, the home of Bracknell Town and Sandhurst Town.
Jeremiah Okine-Peters and Adrian Akande scored in front of nearly 650 supporters.
Nine of the starting 11 in April have made their first-team debuts, with the likes of Louie Holzman, Akande and Basil Tuma already semi-regulars.
Hunt, now the first-team manager following Ruben Selles' exit, lifted the trophy twice as Under-21 manager, beating Ascot United 4-0 at Slough Town's Arbour Park in 2022.
