Released Hull KR talent lands new club in Championship move
Hull KR's former hooker, Reiss Butterworth, has found a new home in the Championship. Butterworth has signed a two-year contract with Sheffield Eagles following his release from the Robins.
The 25-year-old was handed an opportunity by Rovers following an excellent season in League 1, winning the competition's player of the year award after helping Dewsbury Rams to promotion. However, he didn't make an appearance for Willie Peters' side as the form of Matt Parcell and Jez Litten saw opportunities hard to come by.
Butterworth instead played the year out with the reserves and out on loan, having a short stint at London Broncos before returning to the Rams to gain further experience in the Championship.

That has seen him secure a deal with Sheffield, who have signed another hooker in the shape of Leeds Rhinos' Corey Johnson. Sheffield recently announced that Vila Halifihi had retired, leaving them in need of reinforcement in that department.
He joins the list of Hull KR's departing players who have now secured new clubs for 2025. Ryan Hall has joined Leeds Rhinos, Matty Storton has signed for Wakefield Trinity and George King has linked up with Huddersfield Giants. Others had already headed out on mid-season loans, but Corey Hall (Wakefield), Louis Senior (Castleford) and Jordan Abdull (Hull FC) are also sorted for next year.
That leaves Matt Parcell and Tom Opacic, who are both expected to return to Australia following their departures from the club. The other is youngster Harvey Moore.
