Hull City winger Ryan Longman remains convinced things will come good for the Tigers after the international break as they look to end a seven-game winless run.

City were beaten 2-1 at home to West Brom last time out to leave them 19th in the table and only out of the bottom three on goal difference, and face a trip to fellow strugglers Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in their first game back.

Fans have called on owner Acun Ilicali to make a change in the manager's office with Tim Walter under growing pressure after just three wins in the opening 15 games, but the Turkish businessman has so far resisted those temptations, and Longman feels things will start to go in their favour, though he does understand the fans' frustrations.

"One hundred per cent (we believe it will turn). "We just need to just stick together in this time, like being. I've experienced this before. It happens. This is football. Something will turn, and it will turn quickly.

"They obviously pay their money to come and watch us, and we've just got to obviously keep together and stick together through this tough time. We've just got to find something and produce the goods now.

"There's moments in games where we're controlling it so much and we should be a bit more clinical in some situations as well. I think all the lads that know that, and hopefully, something will just click soon and we can start getting a bit of a run together."

In their run without a victory, City led in games against Burnley, Derby County and Portsmouth before being pegged back and then at Oxford United, passed up a flurry of chances before Mohamed Belloumi hit a post. Last Sunday against Albion, Xavier Simons' thunderous effort cannoned back off a bar in between both goals.

"It's incredible (the shots not going in)," the 24-year-old continued. "That's why I guess we love football because these are the moments When Xavi hits the crossbar, that could hit the crossbar and go in, but unfortunately, it hit the crossbar and went out. That makes it one all and it's a completely different game.

"Credit to everyone: all the fans, the staff, and the players stuck in there. We tried our best to get that draw or even push for the win, but we just couldn't get that second."

Adding to the feeling that lady luck just isn't on their side at the moment, City have lost big summer signings Liam Millar and Mohamed Belloumi, both suffering season-ending ACL injuries. Football is ruthless, however, and their enforced absences open up the chance for Longman to pin down a regular place in the side after coming back from a three-month absence after undergoing shoulder surgery following an injury he sustained in the final friendly of the summer at Reading in early August.

"It's a major blow to the team," he explained. "Obviously, two big parts (of the squad), two big players in our team, have now got major injuries, so it's upsetting for them as well," Longman explained. "I'm just here to strengthen up the squad and see what I can do for the team."
