Rhys Healey makes honest Huddersfield Town admission after 'really tough' period
Huddersfield Town forward Rhys Healey has acknowledged that he’s had a “really tough few months” at the beginning of this season after netting his first goal of the campaign in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Crawley Town.
The striker made just his sixth appearance of the season at the Broadfield Stadium at the weekend, with the 29-year-old having been sidelined through injury and illness this term.
The forward was brought on as a half-time substitute in the contest, and netted just before the hour mark with a near-post header from a corner.

Healey was ultimately left disappointed that his side hadn’t managed to come away from Saturday’s clash with all three points, but the striker expressed his eagerness to contribute to Town’s campaign moving forward following a difficult start to the season on a personal level.
“It’s been a really tough few months for me,” Healey told HTTV. “I’ve obviously been breaking down with little niggles, but it was a positive to go out and get 45.
“I’m just a bit gutted I couldn’t grab another one to get the winner, or as a team we couldn’t get over the line. The positive out of it is that we picked up a point, it should’ve been three.
“We said after the Tamworth game we needed a reaction, we can’t go out against Tamworth and lose like we did, so this week has been a tough week, but a good week as we’ve been working hard. I think today, we did put a shift in, and I do feel like we should’ve won the game with the chances we had, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to get that winner.
“I’ve been working hard to get to this moment now, and I feel really good. I’m itching to get on the pitch and help, and I was lucky enough to get on at half-time and get the goal. I’m just gutted we didn’t get the three points.
“We know we should’ve won that game, we had a lot of chances, and no disrespect, the quality in our team, people on the bench and people that haven’t been selected to play, we’ve got quality players to be able to come here and comfortably win.
“We’re all disappointed, but we can’t be too disappointed, because games come quick and fast, and we’ve got to get up, get on the training field and keep working hard.”
