Robbie Fowler sums up every Liverpool fan's reaction as David Coote video 'leaked'
Robbie Fowler shared his disbelief after a video appearing to show Premier League referee David Coote calling Jurgen Klopp a "German ----" surfaced on social media.
The PGMOL is investigating after the footage, which was shared on Monday, quickly gained traction on X, with plenty of Liverpool fans venting their anger at the official. Liverpool legend Fowler chimed in, writing on X: "That David coote vid can't be real... surely."
It is not clear when the video was recorded, but the suggestion is that the alleged interaction took place after Coote had been on fourth-official duty for a Liverpool match earlier that same day.

In the video, the person in the video alleged to be Coote says: “Aside from having a right pop at me when I reffed them against Burnley in lockdown, then he (Klopp) accused me of lying and then just had a right ------- pop at me. I’ve got no interest at speaking to someone who’s ------- arrogant. So I do my best not to speak to him... My God, German ----, fuck me.”
The person in the video accompanying the person who is alleged to be Coote goes on to give his summary of the conversation, saying: “Long story short: Jurgen Klopp’s a ----, Liverpool are all ------- -------- and we hate Scousers.”
A shorter video, clearly recorded after the initial conversation, sees Coote appear to say: “Just to be clear, that last video can’t go anywhere, seriously,” he says. The other man in the video says: “He’s a Premier League referee, let’s not ruin a bloke’s career. We’re not that bad."
It was confirmed by the PGMOL within hours of the emergence of the video that Coote had been suspended with immediate effect pending an investigation. According to Mirror Football's Darren Lewis, Coote "vehemently denies inappropriate conduct".
A PGMOL statement said: "David Coote has been suspended with immediate effect pending a full investigation. PGMOL will be making no further comment until that process is complete."
