Rory McIlroy's career earnings reach staggering amount following his latest win in Dubai
Rory McIlroy may have narrowly missed out on a number of tournament wins this season, but his earnings have not slowed in 2024.
The Northern Irish golfer suffered a number of near-misses in 2024 none more so than at the US Open back in June as his search for a fifth major enters an 11th year as he surrendered a two shot lead with four holes to play to Bryson DeChambeau.
McIlroy suffered further final round heartache at the Irish Open and the BMW PGA Championship.

Despite those setbacks on the course the 35-year-old has continued to add to his career earnings during the last 12 months.
On Sunday McIlroy kept his cool to claim the honours in the end at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship by two shots and pocket a remarkable $3m.
The Northern Irish golfer's win at Jumeirah earned him another $2m as he finished top in the Race to Dubai for a sixth time bulking his final pay cheque to a remarkable $5m!
It was McIlroy's second win of the year in Dubai after he was victorious in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic back in January to take his earnings from this year's DP World Tour to over €9,000,000.
His off the course earnings also sky-rocketed in 2024 and his estimated wealth soared from $262 million in 2023 to $299 million in 2024. His net worth is now thought to be around $83 million.
Incredibly the Holywood man has banked almost €60,000,000 during his career on the DP World Tour with 18 wins to his name.
But that total is dwarfed in comparison to what McIlroy has earned during his time on the PGA Tour. He currently sits third in the all-time career earnings list behind Tiger Woods [1st] and Phil Mickelson [2nd] with over $90m banked.
His 2024 season ignited at the Valero Texas Open where he finished third and bagged $634,800. His first win of the season came alongside good pal and fellow Irish Olympian Shane Lowry. It was McIlroy's first run at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and they stormed to victory, pocketing $1,286,050 each.
McIlroy was in the zone from there and won again at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he had already won four times in. That success banked another cool $3.6 million.
The experts were predicting McIlroy was in perfect position to end his 10-year major drought but unfortunately the misery went on there.
He came up agonisingly short at the US Open when he looked well placed late on in round four but he still left with $2,322,000. At the Masters, a tied 22nd finish brought in $175,599.
He finished joint 12th at the PGA Championship and earned $359,943 but he unfortunately missed the cut at the Open.
From the 19 events McIlroy played on the PGA Tour, he was top 25 in 19 of them and earned $10,893,790 there in total.
Finishing tied ninth at the Tour Championship and third on the Comcast Business Top 10, meant McIlroy earned $1,608,333 and $4.8 million more. That brings his total to $17,302,123 and that is far from the bottom line.
McIlroy returned to the DP World Tour at the Amgen Irish Open where another near miss and second place finish earned $627,521. He finished in the wexact same place at the BMW PGA Championship, bringing in $778,500.
The world number three has a great record in the Middle East where the DP Tour season concludes and he finished Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, accounting for a check of $567,000, and then won the DP World Tour Championship and bagged $3 million more.
Combining his prizemoney alone from the two tours this season, McIlroy overall earned $24,952,725.
"Yeah It means a lot," he declared after the season-ending victory in Dubai. "I've been through a lot this year professionally, personally. It feels like the fitting end to 2024.
"You know, yeah, look, I've persevered this year a lot. Had close calls. Wasn't able to get it done... Really pleased with the way I finished and thankfully I hung on on a tough day and got it done."
In May it was revealed that the six-time Race to Dubai champion filed for divorce from his wife Erica, with the announcement of the break down of their marriage coming the week of the PGA Championship.
Just one month later however, McIlroy revealed the proposed divorce was now off, with the pair working on rebuilding their marriage with their daughter.
