Ruben Amorim can hand Man United the perfect Viktor Gyokeres gift as agent confirms potential exit
Manchester United could have been handed a major boost in their pursuit for Viktor Gyokeres, thanks to Ruben Amorim.
The 39-year-old coach is set to become United's new manager after the Manchester Evening News reported on Wednesday a fee had been agreed with Sporting Clube de Portugal for Amorim. The club are now working on a deal to bring his Sporting first-team coaches to Old Trafford.
While there is uncertainty over when Amorim will take over, there is talk that some of his Sporting players could follow him to Manchester. One of them is Gyokeres who mainly joined the Lions because of the Portuguese boss.

That's according to Gyokeres' agent Hasan Cetinkaya who previously revealed to Portuguese media that eight clubs showed interested in the forward and were willing to pay a higher fee than Sporting. "Everyone paid more to Viktor, everyone paid a higher commission to the agent," he said.
"What happened? I brought him to Sporting because of Ruben Amorim, because I know his work and his work with the players. I chose Ruben because he is a coach of another level."
During the interest from Liverpool in Amorim, Cetinkaya warned the Lions it would be more difficult for Gyokeres to remain in Lisbon if the 39-year-old boss departed the Jose Alvalade. "I'm not surprised that Ruben is being linked to Liverpool, it's normal, his work is of a high level, that's what the clubs are looking for," Cetinkaya added.
"And, yes, it will be more difficult for Viktor to stay if Ruben Amorim leaves Sporting. Because Viktor came precisely because of Ruben. The day we met, we told Ruben: 'here's my boy, he came to Sporting because of you.'"
Gyokeres on the other hand, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been keeping tabs on the prolific goalscorer.
"Obviously, I will have to talk to the president, the president is the boss, he is the one who makes the decisions, we will have to know what he thinks for the future and what Sporting's project is," Cetinkaya continued. "But Viktor also has a say, obviously, and if Ruben Amorim leaves it will be more difficult to continue."
The Swede, who is under contract until 2028, has an £84million (€100m) release clause.
