Ruben Amorim shows true colours with perfect Man United moment at Old Trafford
Ruben Amorim gave some Manchester United fans a moment to remember during a visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday. The 39-year-old was appointed as the new United head coach earlier this month and started work on Monday after managing his final game in charge of Sporting CP against Braga.
Amorim met staff and his players at Carrington upon his arrival before enjoying a tour of the club's infamous 75,000-seater stadium. He is no stranger to Old Trafford, having played there twice as a player but is yet to experience it as a manager, with his first home game in charge against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, November 28.
But Amorim has been allowed the chance to get used to his new home facilities and was shown around by club officials earlier this week, as captured by United's media team. He was given a whistle-stop tour of Old Trafford and was spotted having a look through the stadium, including the media suite and changing rooms.

And on his visit to the home dressing room Amorim met some United fans who were on a stadium tour of their own. Amorim walked in before going around and shaking everyone's hand, one by one, ensuring each person got a warm welcome. He then decided to take a group photo - a moment those supporters can treasure.
At the end of his trip to the dressing room, Amorim appeased the United fans by saying: "Best club in the world," which was greeted with a round of applauds. Amorim didn't have to do that, but it just shows a snippet of what type of person he is and United fans can certainly be excited by that.
As well as this, there were a couple of other things that stood out from his tour of Old Trafford. Amorim looked keen to learn the history of the club when taught about the list of trophies United have won over the years. It shows that Amorim cares and is willing to get on board with what it means to manage United.
Amorim also bumped into a famous face. He met United women's forward Ella Toone during his tour, with the 25-year-old giving the new boss a warm reception and wishing him well. It felt like Amorim was open to giving anyone the time of the day and that just displayed the type of person he seems to be.
Overall, United have someone in charge that has the potential to transform the club around. Not only does he seem to want and care to be at the club, he also has the managerial CV to back that up. During his time at Sporting, Amorim won several major honours and boasted a pretty decent win record.
After taking over in March 2020, Amorim guided Sporting to their first league title in 19 years in his first full season in charge, beating rivals Benfica and Porto to the accolade. During his time at Sporting, Amorim won 164 of his 231 matches in charge, boasting an impressive 71 per cent win rate.
