Ruben Amorim theory emerges after Man United comments as brutal Erik ten Hag jibe sent
Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has issued a scathing assessment of Erik ten Hag after Ruben Amorim's first press conference.
The Portuguese tactician is gearing up for his first game in charge as the Old Trafford club travel to Ipswich Town. The former Sporting CP head coach will be looking to make a winning start to life in the Premier League against the newly-promoted side.
United supporters got their first glimpse of Amorim in the hotseat as he addressed the assembled media on Friday to preview their trip to Suffolk. The 39-year-old has courted praise for his demeanour in the press conference, tackling tough questions while he continues to acclimatise to life in England.

Amorim's tenure is the latest chapter in United history after Erik ten Hag's stint was brought to an end after two years, in light of their controversial defeat to West Ham United.
Owen couldn't resist a dig at the Portuguese's predecessor and the former United striker pinpointed that there is a lot of work to be done at Old Trafford.
"There have been plenty of false dawns @ManUtd in recent years but you sense that Amorim could be the right man," he tweeted.
"I like his demeanour. He looks confident and spoke more sense in 10 mins than Ten Hag did in 2 and a half years. It won’t happen overnight and there’s a fair bit of catching up to do but…….."
United currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table but Ruud van Nistelrooy's interim spell saw stability return to the Theatre of Dreams with the Dutchman departing after leading the club on an unbeaten run.
