Ruben Amorim's dream Man United line-up next season with Viktor Gyokeres and second transfer
The Ruben Amorim era at Manchester United has officially begun, and it will soon lead to speculation about the new signings who could be added to the squad.
Amorim's first match as United's new head coach will not take place until November 24 against Ipswich Town after the international break. After that, the 39-year-old will have several matches to assess his newly inherited squad before the January transfer window opens.
It remains to be seen what business United will look to complete in the New Year. Regardless, it's likely that we won't see Amorim's true impact on the United team until after a few months on the job, which could mean the start of next season.
At that point, United will have had two transfer windows to help Amorim build and mould the squad into his own. That will almost certainly involve further transfers, and based on some of the latest rumours, it could be a very different team compared to what was selected during the Erik ten Hag era.

Amorim typically prefers to go with a 5-2-3 or 3-4-3 formation depending on whether or not his team are in or out of possession. This involves selecting three centre-backs with two full-backs who can also perform the role of a wing-back.
Should this be the case, next season could see Amorim start Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez in a back three. Noussair Mazraoui will compete with Diogo Dalot for the right wing-back role, but on the left, there could be a new signing.
United have been heavily linked with signing a new left-back in recent weeks amid the injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies is out of contract this summer and has been regularly credited as a potential target for United, and could start at left wing-back if he was to move to Old Trafford.
Midfield could see Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes battle for two starting roles in the team. There are yet to be any concrete rumours of new midfielders who could be signed by United in January or next summer, but if any are it will be a major indication of the team that Amorim wants to build.
One player who Amorim could look to reunite with from his time at Sporting is Viktor Gyokeres. The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Portuguese club this season, and reports suggest he could be available for around £60million next summer.
Should Gyokeres sign, though, it would create questions about the future of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. In the wide forward positions, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad may be the long-term future for United, but Amorim will be mindful of also having Marcus Rashford and Antony at his disposal, too.
