Ruud van Nistelrooy reveals Bruno Fernandes Man United truth that will delight Ruben Amorim
Interim Manchester United manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has paid tribute to the commitment of captain Bruno Fernandes as he prepares to make his 250th appearance for the Reds.
The 30-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Sporting CP in January 2020 and has virtually been an ever-present since under managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag.
Since September 2020, the Portugal international has featured in 155 out of a possible 162 Premier League matches for United. And if he is able to take that tally to 156 from 163 on Sunday, it will see him reach a landmark 250th appearance for the club.

And Van Nistelrooy, who will oversee his duties as interim manager for a final time on Sunday, has praised the dedication of Fernandes since arriving at Old Trafford nearly five years ago.
"If you think about it, January 2020, coming in, to November 2024 and there's no need to explain how fit you have to be, to play all these games," he told MUTV. "But also how professional you are. He is an example, how he lives the game, as a professional, and, of course, as a captain leading the team.
"Within that, as being a role model in how to be the best professional you can be and also helping others in many situations - on and off the pitch. He's a great example and a great captain."
Fernandes will join up with the Portuguese national team after Sunday's game and his return to United later this month will come as part of a new era, with Ruben Amorim taking the reigns from November 11.
