Ryan Kent offered career lifeline as ex Rangers star looks to put Fenerbahce ordeal behind him
Free agent Ryan Kent has been offered a career lifeline by Preston North End.
The former Rangers star, 27, is without a club after ripping up his contract at Fenerbahce last month following a miserable year in Turkey. Kent was forced out of the club after flopping in his debut season, while he was immediately deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho during the summer.
Now, the ex-Liverpool winger is weighing up his future after a disappointing few years and the Sun reports that Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom is attempting to land him for a second time.

Former Hibs gaffer Heckingbottom worked with Kent during the attacker's season-long loan stint at Barnsley in 2016/17 and is keen to snap him up on a free transfer. The report states that Kent has multiple offers on the table from home and abroad as he looks to put his Turkish nightmare behind him.
Kent has inevitably been linked with a return to Ibrox but Philippe Clement was coy on the rumours when quizzed last month. He said: "I said already in that one year, already a lot of times I don't go into rumours. Because then it never stops, and it's already busy with all the press conferences with you guys. So, no, I'm not going to go into rumours."
However, the Gers boss did admit that he tried to lure Kent to Club Brugge before he joined Rangers. He added: "Of course, I know the player, and I've known him a long time, because the moment he went to Rangers, I was in talks with him to get him to Brugge.
"But there was a better deal, I think, in Rangers, in that way, so he chose for that. So, I've known him a long time, but I'm not going into rumours about bringing players on."
