Scots claim victory in record-breaking Great Scottish Run in Glasgow

THE Scottish long distance runner Callum Hawkins has won the Great Scottish Run for a third time.

Hawkins joined thousands in Glasgow on Sunday morning to take part in the annual half marathon event.

After claiming victory in 2016 and 2022, Hawkins once again crossed the line in first place with a time of 01:03:25.

In the women’s half marathon fellow Scot Natasha Phillips claimed victory with a time of 01:13:26, with Nynke Mulholland-Stümmer taking second and Brogan Wallace claiming third.

A record 30,000 runners took part in Sunday’s event in Glasgow, which saw participants take part in either 10k and half marathon races.

The race dates back to 1979 and raised thousands of pounds for charity every year.
