American Sean O’Malley will defend his bantamweight title in a UFC 306 fight against Merab Dvalishvili this Saturday night at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The two competitors have been trash talking one another in preparation for the fight, with O'Malley threatening to re-open a laceration on Dvalishvili's face that has only recently healed, and Dvalishvili calling O'Malley's coach a "snake" for disrespecting him.
The evening of fights is being billed as as Noche UFC 306 because it falls on Mexican Independence Day weekend. The main card features a women's flyweight title bout between champion Alexa Grasso and former champion Valentina Shevchenko. The fight will be available on PPV via ESPN+ for $79.99.
This weekend also marks the first live event produced by Yahoo Sports Uncrowned, a new combat sports media brand in partnership with Ariel Helwani. Uncrowned is hosting a special show this Friday, Sept. 13, live from The Yahoo Sportsbook at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas with a broadcast beginning at 7pm ET/4pm PT. How to watch 'The Ariel Helwani Show' on Yahoo Sports Uncrowned?
Yahoo Sports has partnered with award-winning MMA insider Ariel Helwani to launch Uncrowned, a new combat sports media brand. Uncrowned will produce comprehensive MMA, boxing, and wrestling coverage, including The Ariel Helwani Show, a flagship program hosted by Helwani that delivers combat commentary, analysis, and in-depth interviews with some of the biggest names in sports. Helwani will be joined on the show by Eric Jackman, Conner Burks, Frank Lenz, and Petesy Carroll. It will run four times a week, with special episodes timed to major combat events.
The Ariel Helwani Show kicks off tonight, live from Las Vegas ahead of the big fight weekend. Uncrowned content will be distributed across multiple platforms, including in a new combat hub on the Yahoo Sports website and app, as well as on YouTube, social media, and all major podcast platforms. The show will also stream on yahoosports.com and youtube.com/@arielhelwani. Beginning in October, episodes will air live from a new Yahoo Sports studio in New York City.
