Somerset Christian falls despite early lead

Apr. 19—The Somerset Christian Cougars were in desperate need of a victory after dropping their past seven contests heading into a Thursday matchup against Bluegrass United Home School. Despite leading after the first three innings, the Cougars allowed 11 runs in the next two frames and fell 14-4 in five innings.

Jackson Case had two RBI's to lead the Cougars, with Gavin Lewis adding an additional RBI. Emory Whitescarver and Isaiah Hensley also had hits in the game. Hensley, Case and Shadrach Barnett each had a stolen base. Case was the starting pitcher, going three and one-third innings while allowing five runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Barnett and Whitescarver each pitched as well, with Whitescarver taking the loss.

Somerset Christian falls to 3-10 and will next take on Cornerstone Christian and Frankfort Christian on Saturday.
