Somerset girls place third at Lake Cumberland Classic

Apr. 21—The Somerset Briar Jumpers hosted the annual Lake Cumberland Classic on Saturday, with the Pulaski County Maroons and Southwestern Warriors also competing at the day's events.

For the boys, Somerset finished eighth as a team, with Southwestern placing 10th and Pulaski finishing in a tie for 16th.

In the boys' 100m, Somerset's Tyson Absher finished fifth with a time of 11.63, with Southwestern's Kameron Cox finishing eighth with a time of 11.87. Other finishers included Somerset's Cameron Mccaskill in 10th with a time of 11.99, Pulaski's Tristan Weddle in 13th with a time of 12.24, Pulaski's Hayden Vaught in 19th with a time of 12.67 and Southwestern's Gage Anderson in 23rd.

Mccaskill finished 13th in the boys' 200m with a time of 24.68. Other finishers included Tristan Weddle in 15th with a time of 25.08, Somerset's Jamal Tilley in 19th with a time of 25.61, Southwestern's Mason Wilson in 25th and Pulaski's Bryson Mounce in 27th.

In the boys' 400m, Southwestern's Victor Colyer finished fifth with a time of 52.13, with Somerset's Eli Eastham finishing 13th with a time of 55.21. Other finishers included Somerset's Bryson Stone in 17th with a time of 57.00, Southwestern's Drew Kelly in 22nd and Bryson Mounce in 27th.

In the boys' 800m, Somerset's Cameron Albright finished 21st with a time of 2:26.22. Other finishers included Pulaski's Abel Super in 26th, Pulaski's Landon Stevens in 27th and Somerset's Noah Prather in 30th.

Southwestern's Hunter Troxtle won the freshman boys' 1600m in a time of 5:22.60, with Somerset's Cooper Neikirk finishing 10th with a time of 6:01.26.

In the varsity boys' 1600m, Southwestern's Zabrey Bortz finished 12th with a time of 5:05.48, with Somerset's Jason Escobar-Lopez finishing 16th with a time of 5:21.55. Other finishers included Somerset's John Lackey in 23rd, Abel Super in 26th and Pulaski's Micah Super in 27th.

In the boys' 3200m, Escobar-Lopez finished 10th with a time of 11:39.38. Other finishers included Lackey in 19th with a time of 12:54.21 and Micah Super in 22nd.

In the boys' 110m hurdles, Pulaski's Charlie Turner finished fourth with a time of 19.49. Other finishers included Southwestern's Tyler Phelps in fifth with a time of 19.63 and Somerset's Tyson Brashears in 11th with a time of 21.56.

In the boys' 300m hurdles, Turner finished seventh with a time of 49.59 and Phelps in 10th with a time of 51.54.

In the boys' 4x100m relay, Somerset's team of Mccaskill, Absher, Kris Hughes and Jackson Burgess finished fifth with a time of 47.72.

In the freshman boys' 4x200m relay, Somerset's team of Kevin Meija, Corban Cimala, Jonas Blakeman and Neikirk finished second with a time of 1:47.23.

In the varsity boys' 4x200m relay, Somerset's team of Tilley, Absher, Hughes and Mccaskill finished third with a time of 1:37.49. Southwestern's team of Anderson, Wilson, Riley Stinson and Seth Dial finished 10th with a time of 1:49.50.

In the freshman boys' 4x400m relay, Somerset's team of Meija, Cimala, Neikirk and Jonas Blakeman finished second with a time of 4:15.56.

In the varsity boys' 4x400m relay, Somerset's team of Absher, Eastham, Stone and Reese Blakeman finished seventh with a time of 3:55.26. Southwestern's team of Wilson, Dial, Kelly and Hunter Troxtle finished 13th with a time of 4:21.06.

In the boys' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Bortz, Kelly, Ben Coomer and Michael Seiber finished fifth with a time of 8:53.57. Somerset's team of Stone, Meija, Eastham and Albright finished 10th with a time of 9:35.27.

In the boys' high jump, Southwestern's Valor Pennington finished in a tie for third with a height of 5-08.00. Stone finished in a tie for fifth.

In the boys' long jump, Jackson Burgess finished eighth with a distance of 18-03.00. Other finishers included Brashears in 15th, Dial in 21st and Southwestern's Maddox Singleton in 23rd.

Jackson Burgess finished eighth again in the boys' triple jump with a distance of 37-03.50. Other finishers included Cimala in 13th and Pennington in 15th.

In the boys' pole vault, Reese Blakeman finished sixth with a height of 10-00.00. Other finishers included Jonas Blakeman in seventh, Pulaski's Gage Andrus in eighth, Michael Seiber in 10th and Southwestern's Bryce Bateman in 12th.

In the boys' discus, Southwestern's Nico Pascarella placed fourth with a distance of 124-06.00. Other finishers included Mccaskill in ninth, Pulaski's Brayan Ramirez in 21st and Somerset's Zach Koger in 26th.

In the boys' shot put, Southwestern's Nikolas Tucker finished 10th with a distance of 40-05.50, with Koger finishing 24th.

On the girls' side, Somerset finished third as a team, with Pulaski placing fifth and Southwestern finishing seventh.

In the girls' 100m, Pulaski's Emma Coomer finished second with a time of 13.10, with her teammate Brooklyn Sandlin finishing fourth with a time of 13.70. Other finishers included Somerset's Hannaha Boyer in fifth with a time of 13.80, Southwestern's A.J. Perrin in 26th and Southwestern's Katie Lyons in 29th.

In the girls' 200m, Somerset's Emma Midden finished third with a time of 28.19, with Southwestern's Shelby Lockard finishing sixth with a time of 28.66. Other finishers included Sandlin in seventh with a time of 28.82 and Southwestern's Emma Sears in 13th with a time of 30.50.

In the girls' 400m, Somerset's Isabella Mckenzie finished second with a time of 1:02.91. Other finishers included Southwestern's Clare Marie Ramsey in eighth with a time of 1:05.93, Pulaski's Alyssa Salyer in 10th with a time of 1:06.88, Somerset's Maliyah Childrey in 14th with a time of 1:09.00 and Pulaski's Simi McAlpin in 24th.

In the girls' 800m, Southwestern's Olivia Huff finished sixth with a time of 2:33.45, with Pulaski's Addison Cundiff finishing eighth with a time of 2:43.23.

In the freshman girls' 1600m, Southwestern's Brylee Troxtle finished seventh with a time of 6:54.10.

In the varsity girls' 1600m, Southwestern's Shaye Seiber finished second with a time of 5:24.46. Other finishers included Pulaski's Maggie Bertram in fifth with a time of 5:49.95 and Pulaski's Gracie Burton in 15th with a time of 6:49.07.

Bertram placed fifth in the girls' 3200m with a time of 13:24.36, with Brylee Troxtle finishing 11th with a time of 14:49.32.

Southwestern's Kya Rowlands finished 12th in the girls' 100m hurdles with a time of 23.43.

In the girls' 4x100m relay, Pulaski's team of Emma Coomer, Abbee Coomer, Kenzie Cupp and Sandlin finished second with a time of 51.42. Somerset's team of Boyer, Mckenzie, Midden and Grace Burgess finished third with a time of 52.81.

In the freshman girls' 4x200m relay, Somerset's team of Jaycee Cothron, Jocalyn Abney, Katie Dye and Hope Hoffman finished third with a time of 2:11.57.

In the varsity girls' 4x200m relay, Somerset's team of Boyer, Childrey, Mckenzie and Midden finished second with a time of 1:53.27. Pulaski's team of Salyer, Cupp, Sandlin and Aubrey Richardson finished third with a time of 1:54.26. Southwestern's team of Huff, Sears, Ramsey and Lockard finished fifth with a time of 1:56.97.

In the girls' 4x400m relay, Southwestern's team of Lockard, Sears, Ramsey and Huff finished third with a time of 4:31.49.

In the girls' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Huff, Lockard, Shaye Seiber and Madeline Peterson finished second with a time of 10:39.67.

In the girls' high jump, Grace Burgess finished third with a height of 4-08.00, with Ramsey finishing in a tie for sixth.

Grace Burgess won the girls' long jump with a distance of 16-06.00. Other finishers included Madeline Peterson in sixth and Richardson in 11th.

In the girls' triple jump, Grace Burgess again won the event with a distance of 35-03.00. Other finishers included Pulaski's Maliyah Swinney in second and Cupp in eighth.

In the girls' pole vault, Pulaski's Lily Hamilton finished fifth with a height of 7-00.00.

In the girls' discus, Southwestern's Chloe Brotherton finished fifth with a distance of 87-02.00. Other finishers included Southwestern's Grace Shoopman in 22nd and Pulaski's Kendall Hodge in 23rd.

In the girls' shot put, Shoopman finished 16th with a distance of 24-03.00. Other finishers included Southwestern's Claire Peterson in 25th and Hodge in 30th.

Pulaski and Somerset will next compete at the Mercer County All-Comers meet on Tuesday, while Southwestern will travel to compete in the Madison Central All-Comers meet on Tuesday.
