Somerset's Cimala drives in four in rout of Casey County

Apr. 18—The Somerset Briar Jumpers found their offense again in a rout of Casey County on Monday and continued to make strides again on Tuesday at home against the Rebels. Despite giving up a few runs in this one, the Jumpers were still able to go to 4-0 in district with a 13-3 win in five innings.

Cayden Cimala had four RBI's in the victory, with Griffin Loy contributing two and Kole Grundy, Connor Roberts, Connor Vanderploeg, Carson Ryan, Luke Stringer and Isaiah Lewis each chipping in one RBI apiece. Ryan and Loy each had a double, with Grundy hitting a triple. Cimala and Caynon Sizemore each had two stolen bases, with Roberts, Lewis and Jesse Hampton adding one each. Loy earned the win on the mound, going four innings and allowing one run on one hit with four walks and seven strikeouts. Colyer White earned the save, pitching the final inning and allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout. Casey County was led by senior Andrew Price with two RBI's.

Somerset improves to 13-6 and will welcome in a tough Madison Central team on Friday at 6 p.m.
