Sporting wonderkid Ruben Amorim wants to bring to Man United sends classy message
Geovany Quenda has sent Ruben Amorim a classy message following his departure from Sporting CP. The new Manchester United boss took charge of his final game for the Portuguese outfit on Sunday evening, coming from behind to defeat Braga.
After the game, Quenda marked the victory with a celebratory post on his Instagram story. The 17-year-old wing-back, who was handed his professional debut by Amorim earlier this year, congratulated his boss on his move to Old Trafford.
"Thank you for believing in me and letting me play for the club I love, big hug and good luck in the future [green heart, watery eyes and fist bump emoji]," wrote Quenda. The teenager was thrown into the deep end by the Portuguese tactician, quickly becoming a key player for Sporting.

Quenda, who sees his contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium expire in June 2027, has already featured 18 times this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists – one of which was against Manchester City, teeing up Viktor Gyokeres for Sporting's equaliser.
While Amorim has now parted ways with the youngster as he begins his new role at Old Trafford, a reunion could happen sooner rather than later. The Manchester Evening News understands United are tracking Quenda after his impressive performances in Portugal.
The teenager has been scouted by Premier League clubs. Transfermarkt currently values the Portugal Under-21 international at €15m (£12.4m), though his stock could rocket if he continues to catch the eye under new manager Joao Pereira.
Nevertheless, ahead of his arrival at United, Amorim has claimed he's 'ready for the new challenge'. As quoted by TNT Sports, he said: "I feel ready for the new challenge. I'm not naive, I know that it's going to be very different, very tough, but I feel that I am ready.
"I'm at peace now. I can focus on my new job, and I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow," added Amorim. "I know how I am going to play in the beginning, because you have to start with a structure that you know and then you will adapt with the players that you have,” he said.
"Injuries or no injuries, what kind of players, the abilities to defend, to attack. I will discover that in the next few weeks. We don't have a lot of time to train so I have to show something that I know very well. So you can take whatever you want from that question."
