Channel 4 has laid out plans for its “biggest ever” Paralympics coverage, with stars of some of TV’s biggest shows aboard.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis will present live for the first time alongside Clare Balding from a new position inside the Athletes’ Village at the Paris games, which take place after the Olympics from August 28 to September 8.

Also stationed in the French capital, Sex Education star George Robinson and Doctor Who’s Lenny Rush will report on the events as they happen. They will be joined by the likes of Fats Timbo, ex-rugby player and Gladiators’ ‘Fury’ Jodie Ounsley and Paralympic gold-medal swimmer Ellie Robinson.

It is one of the starriest Channel 4 Paralympics lineups yet and has just been unveiled at a swanky do in Shoreditch, London.

Helming the coverage will be Ade Adepitan with five-time Paralympic swimming champion and BAFTA-winner Ellie Simmonds, who makes her Channel 4 presentation debut.

When the sporting action concludes, Channel 4 format The Last Leg takes over as Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe are live in Paris throughout to give their unique take on the day’s events.

“Every Paralympic Games we see the transformative power of sport on display,” said Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon. “At Channel 4 we are thrilled to be bringing the Paralympics back, bigger and better than ever before.”

The coverage is produced by Whisper. EPs are Sunil Patel, Mark Cole, Liz Johnson, Matt Roberts and Pete Thomas.
