Stefan Ortega launches bizarre attack on city of Liverpool after Man City taunts
Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has courted controversy by declaring the city of Liverpool “not the best part in the UK” after his team were embarrassed at Anfield. Ortega conceded a second-half penalty converted by Mohamed Salah as the Reds earned a 2-0 Premier League win on Sunday afternoon.
The goalkeeper, who was surprisingly selected ahead of Ederson in goal, was also beaten early on by Cody Gakpo as Liverpool opened up an 11-point lead over City at the top of the table.
The result sent Pep Guardiola’s side tumbling to a fourth Premier League defeat in a row and a sixth in seven games in all competitions.

During the closing stages, Guardiola was the subject of chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” by the jubilant home fans with the City boss reacting by holding up six fingers to denote the number of Premier League titles he has won at the Etihad.
Many observers, though, were quick to point out that is also the number of times Liverpool have been European champions.
And when asked in a radio interview after the game about the chant directed at Guardiola, Ortega said: “Someone told me before that this area (Liverpool) is probably not the best part in the UK.
“I think he reacted really well, yeah.”
