Philippe Clement and Brendan Rodgers have become embroiled in a war of words off the park.

But Steven Davis has told his former Rangers teammates that it's time to do their talking ON the pitch in this weekend's do-or-die Old Firm clash. Gers must win at Parkhead to realistically stand any chance of reviving their title dreams, while a defeat would virtually see the Hoops crowned champions.

The Light Blues have yet to get the better of their bitter rivals in any of the last three Glasgow derbies this season but Davis is confident the Ibrox side can pull off their biggest win of the campaign on Saturday.

He said: "Winning breeds confidence and you have that snowball effect. It's a really tough place to go, especially with things so tight. But there's pressure on both sides, that doesn't change. I do believe Rangers have the quality to go there and get the result that's needed. We need to show that.

"Performance-wise, you hope it's good, but come the final whistle the be all and end all is the result. It's one game at a time. I feel that's the way Philippe Clement has approached things since coming in. It's up to the players to remain focused now.

"It's such a special feeling to be in that dressing room having had success and sharing in those special moments. Some of the Rangers boys have had that experience before and it leaves you wanting more."
