The Ospreys have been forced to move Sunday's European Challenge Cup match against the Lions to Parc y Scarlets after the Swansea.com stadium was damaged by Storm Darragh.

Wales has been battered by gusting winds and heavy rain since Friday evening, with a red weather alert in place. The conditions have now damaged the stadium, which is also home to Swansea City. The Swans are playing on Saturday away to Luton Town.

An Ospreys statement said: "Due to structural damages at the Swansea.com Stadium caused by Storm Darragh, the Ospreys v Emirates Lions match scheduled for Sunday, 8th December has been relocated to Parc y Scarlets.

"After consulting with EPCR and thoroughly exploring all alternative venues, including St Helen’s and the Dunraven Brewery Field, Parc y Scarlets was selected as the most suitable option. This decision prioritises player welfare and supporter safety, which remain our top priorities.

"Ospreys and EPCR would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Scarlets for their tremendous cooperation and support in accommodating this match at such short notice.

"The date and kick-off time for the match remain unchanged, with the only adjustment being the venue. We are currently finalising arrangements for ticket and hospitality transfers, and further details will be shared with supporters as soon as possible.

"We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this unexpected change, and we look forward to welcoming you to Parc y Scarlets for what promises to be an exciting match."

People have been advised to stay in doors amid a red weather warning. The Met Office has also issued an amber warning for rain on Saturday. The agency has predicted there could be as much as 80-90mm of rainfall. You can read more about that here.
