This 'Star Wars' Death Star (and Other Toys) Put the Science in Sci-Fi
‘Star Wars’ Science Death Star Electronics Lab
Hey, kids, did you know that Star Wars offers a valuable educational experience? Of course, you did. And if you need further proof, look no farther than the toy aisle.
Uncle Milton, purveyor of brain-challenging, STEM-friendly toys, has just unveiled its latest Star Wars Science line, which will be hitting shelves Friday with the rest of this year’s new Star Wars-themed merchandise.
Here’s a quick rundown of the goods.
Death Star Electronics Lab
Future Galactic Empire engineers can get their practice constructing circuits inside this model Death Star. To make the battle station fully operational, you need to enable functions like the super laser, tractor beam, alarm systems, and even Darth Vader’s artificial lung. Set includes 20 experiments.
Death Star Electronics Lab features 75 components and authentic light and sound effects.
Death Star Galaxy Projector
Not only does this Death Star shine our galaxy’s stars on your ceiling, but you can also see the star systems of that galaxy far, far away, as well a scene from the Battle of Yavin.
Death Star Galaxy Projector can fill your ceiling with more than 10,000 stars. Includes 3 high-resolution image discs.
Sith Holocron
In Star Wars mythos, the Holocron is the repository of all knowledge. Now, would-be Jedis can match wits with this doo-dad’s A.I. in a game of 20 Questions that tests players on trivia from all seven Star Wars films as well as the animated Clone Wars and Rebels TV series.
The Sith Holocron can use its algorithm to guess any character, location, or technology from the ‘Star Wars’ universe that you can think of.
Rey Mini Lightsaber Lab
Fans can build their own saber using electronics to work the LED light. The set also includes lenses for optical experiments. Available exclusively at Toys “R” Us.
Padawans can test their knowledge of electronics to build their own mini-saber.
Rey Lightsaber Room Light
Ditch that sconce and complete your Star Wars room décor with this 25-inch replica blue lightsaber. First you construct the sword using electronics and crystal, then activate the LED lights and sound effects via a remote control. Available exclusively at Toys “R” Us.
The monsters under your bed won’t stand a chance with this baby hanging close by.
R2-D2 Force Spinners Magnetic Lab
This astromech helps you understand concepts of physics as you use the ripcord to set the droid spinning and change its direction with the magnetic controller. Available exclusively at Toys “R” Us.
Who knew R2-D2 could help you understand magnetism, acceleration, momentum, and friction?
