Three key Leicester City players must be careful over the coming fixtures in order to avoid a suspension.

Wilfred Ndidi, Facundo Buonanotte and Jamie Vardy have all picked up three bookings from City's first eight Premier League matches. If they continue to have their name taken at that rate, they will earn themselves a one-match ban.

Five yellow cards in the first 19 Premier League fixtures will see a player sit out for a game and so the trio must avoid two cautions over the next 11 outings. That will require some discipline.

For Ndidi and Buonanotte, it may be difficult. Both play combatively, with Ndidi leading the Premier League for tackles made this season, and with Buonanotte making more tackles in the attacking third than any other player in the division. As a result, they’ve conceded a few fouls too, Ndidi committing 14 and Buonanotte 11. For Vardy, his three yellow cards have come from just five fouls.

If any of the trio were to pick up a suspension, it would be a blow to manager Steve Cooper. Ndidi and Vardy have started all of City’s Premier League games so far and do not look like dropping out of the side.

Meanwhile, Buonanotte has established himself as the club’s lead attacking threat, with three goals and two assists to his name so far. Per 90 minutes, he ranks inside the Premier League’s top 10 for combined goals and assists this season.

Beyond the trio on three yellow cards, there are three more players who have picked up two bookings so far. They are Harry Winks, Oli Skipp and Jordan Ayew.
