Tift's Abby Goddard to play soccer for ABAC

Apr. 27—TIFTON — Abby Goddard will not have to travel far to continue her soccer career. The Tift County High senior committed to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College April 24.

Head coach Sherri Constable said she remembered when Goddard showed up as a freshman. "She ran after it as hard as she could," Constable said.

"You see the growth and the progress in her game," said Constable. "From freshman Abby to senior Abby is amazing, and I'm glad that we all got to see part of it."

Goddard was very versatile for the Lady Devils, as capable at striker as she was at midfield and defender.

She scored 18 goals for the Lady Devils in 2024, with four-goal games against Crisp County and Northside, plus a hat trick against Cook. Had she not been so versatile and able to play everywhere, Constable said Goddard would have scored even more.

After Constable spoke, Goddard thanked everyone for attending the signing. "I love all of you," she said.
