Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, November 12.

Bluebirds to play Brentford

Cardiff City will travel to Premier League side Brentford tomorrow in a behind-closed-doors friendly, WalesOnline understands.

While Omer Riza's situation as interim boss remains up in the air, he continues to plan ahead and wants to leave no stone unturned for when the Bluebirds return back to action after the international break.

Any watcher of the Championship will know that teams will not be successful unless the whole squad is firing and given Riza's penchant for trying to settle on a best XI, a number of players have struggled to muscle their way into the side.

As a consequence, some Bluebirds will be involved in west London tomorrow as they bid to gain a mixture of form and fitness ahead of the Sheffield Wednesday clash a week on Saturday.

The likes of Will Fish, Jesper Daland, Cian Ashford, Yakou Meite, Joel Bagan, Michael Reindorf and Kion Etete are all set to be included, it is understood.

Colwill: I'd expect nothing less than honesty from Bellamy

Rubin Colwill has said he expects nothing less than complete honesty from Wales boss Craig Bellamy following his comments during his squad announcement last week.

Colwill was called into the squad for Wales' double-header against Turkey and Iceland in the coming week amid a number of injuries that Bellamy has to contend with.

Given Colwill has been one of the standout men in the Championship over the last six weeks, the spotlight has been squarely on him. However, Bellamy, who knows Colwill well owing to his former job as Cardiff academy coach, said he "expected more" from the playmaker at this stage of his career and "there's still a long way to go" for him.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Colwill said of Bellamy: "I've known him a long time and he's always been like that, pushing you hard and trying to get the most out of you.

"I've known Craig a long time and he's always been the same, so I'd expect nothing less from him." Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

He added: "Personally, I'd like to improve as much as I can, get as good as I can. The performances on the pitch will take care of themselves if you do the work off the pitch. Improve as much as I can and see where it takes me."

Colwill is just one of the players to have gone up a level since Riza took charge, albeit on an interim basis, and he waxed lyrical about the temporary head coach.

"It's been a massive change since Riz came in," he said of Riza. "He's given everyone confidence, not just myself. The style of play suits me. Just the overall feel of the building, when everyone's buzzing the performances improve.

"Big credit to Riz, he has done really well to turn things around and hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here."

Robertson 'confused' over international future

Australia forward Kusini Yengi remains hopeful his team-mate Alex Robertson, who has been capped twice, will continue his career in Australian football despite expressing uncertainty about his international future.

The 21-year-old Bluebirds midfielder declined to participate in the Socceroos’ World Cup qualifiers this month, as revealed by national coach Tony Popovic.

This follows Robertson's decision to remove all Socceroos-related content from his public Instagram earlier this year. Yengi, who played alongside Robertson during his loan spell from Manchester City to Portsmouth last year, said he frequently communicates with the talented midfielder, who is also eligible to play for England, Scotland and Peru.

"I speak to Alex quite often. We played at Portsmouth last year and we were very good friends," Yengi said ahead of Thursday’s match against Saudi Arabia at AAMI Park. "I think he’s a bit confused at the moment with what he wants and what he doesn’t want. He’s still young, and he’s still trying to figure out his body and how his career’s going to pan out."

Yengi acknowledged that Robertson "obviously has some decisions to make" regarding whether he would return to the Socceroos after playing in friendlies against Ecuador and Argentina last year.

"But look, I’d love to play with him in a Socceroos jersey, and I’m constantly telling him to come and play … give me some through balls and give me some assists and things like that," Yengi added.

"So I’m hoping one day in the future that we’ll see him playing in the Socceroos again. He’s very positive. And I think he’s just trying to figure everything out, but I think when the time comes, he will make a decision and he’ll come back and play for us."

Just a couple of weeks ago, Robertson was asked by WalesOnline about his international future and the former Manchester City youngster insisted he wanted to focus on his club football after returning from a bad injury which he sustained while on loan at Portsmouth last year.

"It's just that I want to focus on my club football. I'm loving it here at the minute," said Robertson, who has been fantastic in a City shirt since his arrival.

"We're not in a sticky situation here, but obviously where we are in the table, we want to climb it. I'm fully focused on my club and our team trying to get us up.

"So the international has, I've not parked it, but I'm just focusing on my club at the minute. To be fair, I didn't hear anything from the last camp so I'm not sure what happened on that end.

"The previous camps I said wanted to focus on the club. I'd come back from a big injury, so that left me out for a long time."

Goodman: Riza will be frustrated, club must make an announcement

EFL pundit and former West Brom, Sunderland and Wolves striker Don Goodman believes Omer Riza has done enough to earn a permanent contract at Cardiff.

Riza has overseen an upturn in results, but coming off the back of two defeats heading into the international break seems to have mired the club, and Riza himself, in more uncertainty.

And forward turned commentator Goodman believes Cardiff have to make a decision over the course of this international break.

“Omer Riza will be frustrated that they've lost their last two games but prior to that they had won four and drawn two," he told Gambling Zone.

"The football has got a lot more positive and the players are enjoying their football. It was a perfect audition up until the last two games, so it will be an interesting two weeks during the international break, to see if he's given the job permanently or kept as an interim. I think he's moved the team forwards given where they were before.

"But the fact he hasn't been appointed makes me think the hierarchy does not fancy him or that there is someone waiting in the wings. It's not exactly a positive endorsement from the board and I'm surprised he's not been given the job permanently. I think he's shown enough to at least, be given the job on a short-term basis or on an 18-month contract.

“I don't think Cardiff can attract a big-name candidate or someone with a brilliant pedigree. I think they must make some kind of announcement over the next two weeks and it will be interesting to see what they do.”

Derby fixtures moved

The second south Wales derby of the season has been rescheduled for an earlier kick-off time. However, the clash at Cardiff City Stadium remains a Saturday fixture as swansea-city-fc>Swansea City aim to avoid another defeat on the Bluebirds' turf.
