Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Wednesday, December 11.

Allen facing fresh injury blow

Joe Allen has emerged as an injury doubt ahead of Swansea City's upcoming festive schedule.

The Wales international sat out the 2-1 win at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night after suffering a suspected muscular problem during the weekend's draw with Luton Town, and Luke Williams admits he's unsure when the 34-year-old will be back in action.

"Unfortunately he felt something at the end of the last game and it turned out to be a small problem that is going to keep him sidelined for a short period of time," Williams told the BBC.

"I think there's a chance that we see him over Christmas but we have to be very careful with Joe. He is royalty around these parts.

"Joe will do everything, he is an incredible pro, and the medical team will help him.

"Hopefully we'll be able to see him at the back end of the Christmas period."

In-form Cullen relishing deeper role

Liam Cullen admits he's enjoying his deeper role for Swansea City, as he continued his rich run of form in the win over Plymouth Argyle.

The Wales international racked up his fifth goal of the season at Home Park, and now has five goals and three assists in six games for club and country.

Cullen's recent run has coincided with him playing a role more akin to that of a 10 rather than an out-and-out number nine, a move he says is bringing the best out of him.

He says he's also enjoying working alongside winger Myles Peart-Harris, whose superb cross set up his goal in Devon.

“I am playing with a lot of confidence at the moment, I am really, really enjoying my football,” he said.

“I am playing a bit deeper at the moment, almost between an eight and a 10, and it gives me so much freedom to get on the ball, but it also allows me to get into the box and join the attack.

“With the goal here, and against Portsmouth, you could see I was able to get in the box almost as an extra striker and get on the end of it.

“I hope that can continue, and Myles’ cross was something he has got down to a fine art.

“I know when he is getting ready for that, I can make the gamble and make the run because he has the quality to pick me out.”

Williams delighted for Fulton

Luke Williams says he was pleased to see Jay Fulton make the most of his return to the Swansea City first team.

The midfielder made just his fourth start of the season at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday, netting the first goal in a 2-1 win, much to the delight of his boss.

"It's been really tough for Jay," Williams said.

"He's such a good player, but we have some competition in there. The captain (Matt Grimes) is incredible of course, Goncalo [Franco] has done really well and we have Joey Allen as well. We have so many good players in this position.

"We know the quality Jay has. Everyone in the group respects him and he has shown that he can come in – relatively – from the cold, because he has only started four games in the league, and make a really good performance and key contribution.

"I am really happy for him. He deserves that."
