Tottenham will have to wait to see whether Cristian Romero is fit enough to play in Sunday's Premier League game with Fulham, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.

Spurs are currently without a number of first team players yet Postecoglou's men have, so far, successfully managed the start of their winter schedule. The north Londoners produced a statement win last weekend with a 4-0 thumping of Manchester City to leave them sixth in the Premier League table.

On Thursday, an injury time leveller by Mats Hummels denied Spurs three points in the Europa League against AS Roma. Now, attention swiftly turns back to Premier League action with the visit of Fulham.

It's the first of three tough games across the next week with a trip to Bournemouth on Thursday followed by a London derby clash with Chelsea. If Postecoglou is going to return Champions League football to north London, he has to correct the barren run of unexpected defeats.

Ahead of the Fulham game, Postecoglou confirmed his side suffered no fresh injury problems in the Roma game. However, the chance of Romero featuring against Marco Silva's side remains unlikely.

"So last night, at this stage, a clean bill of health. Mind you, I thought that last week and we had a guy who needed surgery an hour later," he said.

"I think everybody is alright from last night. Obviously we'll see when the boys come in. Returns... unlikely. Romero is closer, he's probably the closest but again, probably unlikely, but I'm not ruling him out. He's got to get through a few things today and then we've got a session tomorrow."

There was no update on Micky van de Ven, who has been missing since he was forced off in the EFL Cup win over Manchester City nearly a month ago.

"Micky is on course, work hard, training," Postecoglou said on Wednesday. "It's day by day with him; we have to make sure he ticks off all the boxes before he gets integrated into the squad."

Richarlison (thigh) and Guglielmo Vicario (ankle) are both out, as is Rodrigo Bentancur, who is due to return for the Boxing Day clash with Nottingham Forest. Young talent Mikey Moore is gradually recovering but is likely to be out until the middle of December.

Summer signing Wilson Odobert will be out for the foreseeable after undergoing surgery earlier this month on a thigh injury. The teenager has been given no return date.
