Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Everton star Aamdou Onana. Reports in recent months have seen the Gunners heavily linked with a move for Onana.

The Belgium international signed for Everton from Lille in 2022 in a deal thought to be worth around £33 million. Onana has been one of the key players for the Toffees ever since he first moved to Goodison Park.

That form has seen the midfielder linked with a potential move to another Premier League club, with Arsenal apparently showing an interest in reports that are to be believed. However, it seems that the Gunners are no longer alone in keeping tabs on the possibility of signing Onana.

Reports have claimed that Spurs are also in the running to sign the 22-year-old this summer. And now, according to Caught Offside, both Arsenal and Tottenham have put Onana on their list of transfer targets this summer. It has also been claimed that the Everton midfielder is a player of interest to Newcastle and Barcelona.

The report claims that Spurs could look to target Onana as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. It has been suggested that Tottenham would look to receive a £20 million fee for Hojbjerg, which could then be used to fund the signing of Onana from Everton.

Onana's future at Everton has increasingly been the subject of speculation in recent transfer windows. It remains to be seen if the Goodison Park club will sanction the exit of the midfielder at the end of the season, with uncertainty still looming around a potential takeover.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with potential new midfielders ahead of the summer transfer window. In January, the Gunners were also linked with Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi, while Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has also rumoured to be a long-term target for Mikel Arteta's side.
