Tottenham Hotspur's recent run of good form came to an end against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

Spurs nearly levelled up immediately after Palace's opener as Micky Van de Ven hit the post after connecting with James Maddison's corner. However, that was as close as Tottenham came to earning a share of the points, as chances in the second half were few and far between.

Meaning in the end, Jean-Philippe Mateta's first-half strike was enough to condemn Ange Postecoglou's side to just a second defeat in nine games. The defeat leaves Tottenham four points off the Champions League qualification places after nine games of the new Premier League season.

Here, football.London looks at the next five fixtures compared to their Champions League-chasing rivals.
