Trabzonspor chief quizzed on Rangers duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic after transfer claims

Trabzonpsor hope to make signings over the next few days amid claims they'd already secured Rangers duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic.

Reports have for some time credited the Turkish side with an interest in the Gers midfielder and left back who are both out of contract at the end of the season. And in recent days those escalated with claims the pair had already committed to Trabzon for next season.

President Ertugrul Dogan has now been quizzed on that at a fan event and insists that while some of the names they've been linked with are correct, some are not. He says he is working with manager Abdullah Avcı to complete their recruitment plans for the summer and hope to tie things up within days.

He said: "It would not be right for me to confirm names here. Some are right, some names are wrong.

"But with regard to the names mentioned, I can only say we are working in coordination with the manager, Abdullah Avcı.

"We plan to complete most of the transfers for the new season in the coming days. The aim is to start the season with a ready-made squad that the entire technical team has approved for the pre-season camp.

"Therefore, we are progressing that aspect of the work quickly with our manager and his team. We've done the hard part.

"Our aim is to give good news to the community of Trabzonspor supporters very soon."

It has been expected for a while now that Barisic would move on but Lundstram has been more up in the air with Philippe Clement recently hinting that it was possible a deal could be done to keep the Englishman.
