Mohamed Salah posted on social media about the unforgettable experience of finding the net at Anfield following Liverpool's nail-biting 2-1 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion. With a touch of mystery in his latest social media message, he reflected on his pivotal goal in what most have assumed was a nod to his contract situation.

The Egyptian forward was the architect behind the victory at Anfield on the weekend, delivering the decisive strike after Cody Gakpo had leveled the score, nullifying the visitor's lead. Salah's curled shot with his left boot marked his ninth for Arne Slot's side this season and propelled the Reds a vital two points ahead of Manchester City in the league standings, as Pep Guardiola's men stumbled at Bournemouth.

However, as his tenure at Liverpool draws to an end with his contract due to expire, Salah has signaled his deep appreciation for every goal scored at the club's home ground. In a heartfelt Instagram post within a day of the win, Salah expressed: "Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less.

"All teams win matches but there's only 1 champion in the end. That's what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like."

His fellow teammates, including Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, Ryan Gravenberch, Kostas Tsimikas, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Gakpo were quick to react, with the post amassing a staggering number of likes shortly after it went live.

It wasn't just Salah who headed to Instagram to celebrate the Reds' significant win. Szoboszlai also shared a buoyant message: "No stopping, big win today!". Jones, meanwhile, was buoyant, declaring: "We never give up! Big win. See you Tuesday."

Trent Alexander-Arnold's message was concise and motivating: "Keep going." Gakpo, celebrating his newfound Premier League scoring touch after a midweek double in the Carabao Cup, affirmed: "Giving up is not an option with God by my side. Proud of the team."

The fortunes were varied for Alexis Mac Allister; he found the going tough in midfield against the team he once played for but remained upbeat on Instagram, saying: "A day full of emotions. Another step forward at our home, Anfield, and a victory that fills us with motivation. Let's keep pushing."

Liverpool.com says: It is hard to view Salah's post as anything other than a hint about his future. He wants to stay and it is imperative that the deal is done to ensure that happens considering how vital he remains at Anfield. He has 16 goal contributions in the first 15 matches of the Slot era.
