Trevoh Chalobah makes Chelsea future admission with message to Mauricio Pochettino

Trevoh Chalobah has admitted that he is focused on being a success for Chelsea amid continued speculation about his future.

Thursday night saw Chalobah star for the Blues with his goal in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The defender opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge, with Nicolas Jackson also on the score sheet in the London derby.

The win over Spurs was just Chalobah's 13th appearance in all competitions this season. It was only in January that the 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea.

However, despite the rumours, Chalobah remained at Stamford Bridge and has continued to be part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad. The defender has explained how impressing the Blues boss is at the forefront of his mind.

"For me, I have been through a lot in my career," Chalobah told Sky Sports when asked about the uncertainty surrounding his future. "It is important for me to stay focused.

"I know my abilities and I just need to keep working hard in training and trying to give the manager a headache."

Chalobah went on to explain why he is noticing signs of the Chelsea squad beginning to find consistency. The Blues defender admitted that the age of the squad has meant inconsistent results were to be expected, be believes the squad is starting to turn a corner.

"The players that we have and the ability we have, but as we have talked about with the consistency, as a young team it’s going to be like this," said Chalobah.

"Once we get that consistency then we will be flying. But we just need to stay grounded, stay humble. There are a few games left and we need to be able to do this kind of performance every single game."
