Manchester United Under-18s continued their sparkling form with an 8-0 thrashing of Leeds United on Saturday.

Chido Obi-Martin had stolen the headlines last weekend with a 14 minute treble but it was two of his team-mates celebrating hat-tricks this time around. James Scanlon and Amir Ibragimov both helped themselves to three goals in the rout with Bendito Mantato and Victor Musa also on target.

Obi-Martin, who joined the club in a high profile summer switch from Arsenal, started on the bench but came on with United five up and nearly scored only for Ibragimov to tap in the new arrival's goalbound shot from close range.

The win extends United's perfect start to the Under-18 Premier League season with Adam Lawrence's side having won all eight of their matches so far.

Meanwhile, the Under-21s were beaten 5-2 at Sunderland in Premier League 2 as Sekou Kone made his Manchester United academy debut off the bench.

Midfielder Kone is another highly rated player who joined the United ranks this summer from Guidars FC in a deal worth around £1million. The 18-year-old was handed his first minutes in a red shirt in the north east.

He entered the fray in the second half as United ease him into action following his summer arrival. Kone has initially joined up with the academy but he will spend time training with the first team at Carrington.

The midfielder couldn't help turn the tide at Sunderland with the hosts 4-2 up at the break and adding a fifth early in the second half. Jack Fletcher and Gabriele Biancheri were on target for United.
