'Unplayable' Iwan Stephens stole the show in Cardiff on Saturday night, with his stunning finish helping inspire a comeback victory over Ulster at the Arms Park.

The former Newcastle wing dived over acrobatically in the corner while the Blue and Blacks were 19-0 down, with his try being the catalyst to Cardiff coming back to win 21-19.

Stephens has enjoyed a solid start to life in the Welsh capital since moving from England in the summer, with his score against Ulster his second in four games.

"It was just one of them," Stephens said post-match. "I didn't really know it was coming.

"I was just in the moment. I didn't really expect the ball, to be honest. It was mainly the guy coming across, so I just had to block him off. We did well to finish it off."

Afterwards, Stephens' team-mate Callum Sheedy called him "unplayable", while Matt Sherratt called it a "great finish".

And speaking about the try on Premier Sports, former Wales wing Alex Cuthbert said: "That's incredibly hard.

"The ball is a little bit dewy and he's probably gone in with the ball in the wrong hand in terms of diving in for it. The finish is the finish.

"(Stuart) McCloskey did awfully well to get there. The one pass that made it was Mason Grady's to Cam Winnett.

"That could have easily been man and ball. Then the whole move is killed. That was the key one."

Son of former Wales international Colin, Stephens started out playing rugby league with Leeds Rhinos - with his finish straight out of the 13-a-side game.

However, he left Leeds in 2020 to join Newcastle's academy - with the Welsh-qualified back playing five times for England U20s during his time at the Gallagher Premiership side.
