Liverpool are gearing up for their return to Premier League action as they face Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds host Spurs at Anfield in one of Jurgen Klopp's final matches as manager. Klopp will depart at the end of the season, with today's game against Tottenham his penultimate home fixture as Liverpool boss.

The last few weeks have seen Liverpool lose ground in the Premier League title race. Saturday's results leave the Reds eight points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand and seven adrift of second-placed Manchester City.

Klopp has been forced to deal with a lengthy injury list across the campaign, and it's no different heading into today's Premier League fixture. The ECHO takes a look at the current Liverpool injury news and return dates ahead of the clash against Tottenham.

Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is the latest player to emerge as an injury concern for Liverpool.

Klopp confirmed that Van Dijk had missed training during the week due to a fitness issue, but hinted that he could be involved on Friday. It remains to be seen if the Liverpool captain will recover in time to feature against Tottenham.

"No, [he will] probably be part of team training today, so we will have to see what we can do there," Klopp told reporters about Van Dijk's fitness on Friday.

Potential return date: Tottenham Hotspur (H) - May 5 or Aston Villa (A) - May 13.

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota is currently recovering from a hip injury he sustained against Fulham on April 21.

Jota is yet to return to first-team training and will not be involved in Sunday's game against Tottenham. Liverpool will hope to have the forward back in the matchday squad before the end of the season.

Potential return date: Aston Villa (A) - May 13.

Joel Matip has been recovering from an ACL injury he suffered back in December.

Matip is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season. With the defender's contract set to expire this summer, it remains to be seen if he will make another appearance for Liverpool.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara has not played for Liverpool since his five-minute cameo in the defeat to Arsenal on February 4.

That cameo remains Thiago's only appearance of the season as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. It remains to be seen if and when the midfielder will make his return for Liverpool with his contract set to expire next month.

Potential return date: Unknown.

Ben Doak has been on the sidelines since December when he suffered a knee injury during an appearance for Liverpool's Under-21s.
