Warrington Wolves have become the first Super League club to release their squad numbers ahead of the 2025 season. The play-off semi-finalists, coached by Sam Burgess, have handed numbers to three new signings, while also promoting other players after impressive seasons.

Most notably, young halfback Leon Hayes has been given a huge vote of confidence after landing the number seven jersey. The academy product takes the shirt left vacant by Josh Drinkwater in what is a clear indicator that he is being primed to take the starting berth he earned earlier this season.

Hayes had established himself as Burgess' halfback of choice to partner George Williams earlier in the year, only for a serious injury to end his campaign prematurely. However, he will be back next year and ready to resume the role.

Elsewhere, Rodrick Tai has been given the number 4 jersey, replacing Stefan Ratchford who reoccupies the number 19 shirt he first wore in 2012. Luke Yates has also been promoted to number 13 following Matty Nicholson's departure while Sam Powell will wear 14, which was previously allocated to Tai.
