Warriors star Stephen Curry leaves loss to Clippers early after rolling ankle
The Warriors dropped their first game of the season on Sunday night after losing Curry
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry left their 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers early on Sunday night after rolling his ankle.
Curry tweaked his ankle twice in the second half of the contest at the Chase Center in San Francisco. He left the game briefly, but returned to the court a few minutes later and seemed totally fine. But then, while trying to set a screen in the corner, Curry rolled his left ankle hard.
Curry immediately hopped in pain and limped directly off the court into the locker room.

The Warriors ruled him out a few minutes later. Specifics of his injury aren’t known, though he is set to get an MRI on his ankle on Sunday night. Warriors coach Steve Kerr described the injury as "mild or moderate."
Curry finished the night with 18 points, six assists and four rebounds. He shot 6-of-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc.
The Warriors entered Sunday night’s game with a 2-0 record. They opened the season with a 36-point rout of the Portland Trail Blazers, where Curry was just a rebound shy of a triple-double, and then they beat the Utah Jazz by 41 points on Friday.
The Clippers led nearly the entire way on Sunday night to grab their eight-point win. James Harden dropped 23 points and 11 assists to lead the team, and Ivica Zubac finished with 23 points and 17 rebounds. Norman Powell added 20 points, too. The Clippers are now 2-1 on the year, with their only loss coming in overtime to the Phoenix Suns in their season opener.
Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 29 points, and Jonathan Kuminga added 12 points and five rebounds. Kevon Looney was the only other Warriors player to hit double figures after he added 10 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
The Warriors will next host the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back matchups starting on Tuesday night.
