The NBA's Thursday action includes a battle between two teams making playoff pushes over the final stretch of the regular season in the Golden State Warriors (30-27) and the New York Knicks (35-24).

Golden State heads to Madison Square Garden to continue a four-game road trip. The Warriors are 9-2 in February to make their way up the Western Conference standings. They're currently the 10th seed in the West but are getting Chris Paul back from injury. Longtime starter Klay Thompson's coming off the bench with good effect; he scored a team-high 25 points in Golden State's 123-112 win over the Washington Wizards Tuesday night.

New York's the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference but not too far off from multiple teams bunched up at 34 wins right behind them in the standings. The Knicks have struggled in February amid a string of injuries - including second-leading scorer Julius Randle - and are just 3-6 this month. They'll have a tough finish to the regular season, too, with seven of their final 11 games on the road to close the season. Home games like tonight are crucial to keeping pace in playoff positioning.

This is the first game between these two teams this season. Golden State will host the Knicks on March 18.

Warriors vs. Knicks predictions

ESPN: Warriors have a 53.8% chance of winning

ESPN's basketball power index (BPI) rates the Warriors (3.8) as the sixth-best team in the league, much farther ahead of the Knicks at 0.9.

Winners and Whiners: Knicks win

Michael Briggs says: "Winners of 11 of their last 14 games straight-up, the Warriors will give the Knicks all they can handle... New York has lost six of its last eight straight-up, falling from grace after winning 10 of its previous 11 overall. The Knicks have the home-court advantage tomorrow, but that's about it."

Stat Salt: Warriors -3, under 223.5 points

Jason Raffoul writes: "The Warriors won on a surprising off-night from Stephen Curry, pulling away from the Washington Wizards 123-112. Curry was held scoreless in the first half for the first time in the regular season since Nov. 23, 2012, against Denver. Look for him to get back on track against a depleted Knicks team missing nearly their entire starting lineup."

PickDawgz: Warriors -3.5

Peter Tran says: "The Warriors are a little shorthanded for this one with Andrew Wiggins sitting out due to personal reasons, while the Knicks have ruled out Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, with Jalen Brunson also listed as questionable. The Knicks have been doing it tough since losing Randle to injury and they're going to really struggle if Brunson isn't able to suit up also. With that being said, I think the Warriors are the play at the short line in this spot."
