Carlos Corberan felt his West Brom outfit were hampered by his side's lack of preparation time ahead of their 2-1 win at Hull City on Sunday afternoon.

Albion had less time to prepare for the MKM Stadium clash given they hosted Burnley on Thursday night, while Tim Walter's Tigers played away at Oxford United on Tuesday.

Despite that frustration, Corberan watched his side ease to a first win in nine attempts against a City outfit without a win in seven and sliding towards the relegation zone amid increasing focus on Walter's position as head coach.

Two goals inside the opening 20 minutes from Karlan Grant and Josh Maja proved enough, and though Joao Pedro's terrific header halved the deficit before the interval, City could not breach a resolute Baggies rearguard in a dominant second period.

"If I give you the context (lack of time since Thursday's game with Burnley) and the tactical and physical challenge, I can only value the effort and the commitment of the players," the Spaniard said.

"When you are in a momentum of not winning games, you can become frustrated, you can give up, but in football and especially the Championship, you need to value everything that you do, even when you aren't achieving the results, and you can't give up because there isn't much of a difference between the teams."

Corberan felt City were well in the game but believes the Championship is a much more even affair than in previous seasons and that the Tigers could have more than the 15 points they have from their 15 games thus far.

"The level of other teams is as high as the level of Hull. For me, you can see that Hull have enough credit to have a similar amount of points as we have right now.

"If you take the table, and you look from bottom to top, the level of teams this year. I have never seen this much equality (the league being quite even)

"I can't tell you that Hull deserved to lose today, because they didn't. But the mentality of my team meant we deserved the win. What I have seen today is every single game in the Championship this year."
