Grady Diangana has returned to West Brom training this week - and he could even be involved in the match-day squad when Albion host Coventry City on Wednesday night, if all goes to plan on Tuesday. Winger Diangana has missed the last three games since the recent international break because of pain in the nerve of his calf.

Diangana was in excellent attacking form at the back end of last season, returning from international duty at the African Cup of Nations where he represented DR Congo, and he proceeded to enjoy the most fruitful season of his Baggies career, despite the club falling short in their promotion pursuit.

Albion are without Paddy McNair, Semi Ajayi and Daryl Dike - the latter pair until the New Year - but Diangana's recovery and availability could offer a timely boost in personnel to Corberan, who is looking to end Albion's unique run of form - having drawn ten of 11 games - with victory over the Sky Blues at The Hawthorns.

"We need to evaluate Diangana. He has trained today, so it is a positive thing, he has trained very well with the group," Corberan said on Monday. "We need to see how he reacts. If Diangana trains very well tomorrow then he can be one of the options to be on the bench.

"If you analyse the players that last year helped us make the play-offs he was one of those with a massive impact in the team, in terms of goals and goal contributions, he was involved with many. With an injury at the beginning, no pre-season and with the African Cup, these numbers show the level of impact. It is true we need our best to help the team to win games."

Albion played Sunday, will entertain on Wednesday and then visit Watford on Sunday, kicking off a jam packed December with plenty of festive action to come. Rotation will be necessary at various stages as the Christmas schedule kicks in, with energy levels throughout the squad put to the test during this, the most rigorous portion of any EFL campaign.

Kyle Bartley, Josh Maja, Mikey Johnston and Alex Mowatt are among a host of players who'll be assessed in the next 24 hours to determine whether they're in a position to go again or whether Corberan will need to shuffle his pack. Even Callum Styles, who has impressed at left-back, was unwell after the draw with Sheffield United on Sunday.

"It is impossible to evaluate on Monday, because when they come normally they are fatigued, on Tuesday you have a better projection about how they are. You can only know of any injuries that moves them out of the squad," Corberan continued.

"We need to see now how some players who did not play in a row in the last weeks how they are for the next game. Like Bartley, to see how he recovers, because it has been a long time since he played two games in a row. He is a player we have to evaluate.

"Johnston is a player we have to evaluate too. Maja is a player we have to evaluate too. Mowatt is a player we have to evaluate too, because maybe they have suffered in games we have in a row or they have had some (injury) problems like Bartley."
