West Ham player ratings vs Brentford: Michail Antonio on borrowed time as Emerson has day to forget
West Ham were guilty of not taking their chances as Brentford came from behind to once again beat the Hammers.
That's no five defeats from five games against the Bees in the Premier League for West Ham, though for much of the game it looked like they would travel back across the capital with something to show for their efforts.
But individual mistakes proved key.
Here's how David Moyes's side rated at the Gtech Community Stadium...
Alphonse Areola 5
Helpless for all three goals and otherwise not much worked but could really do with a clean sheet.
Vladimir Coufal 6
Probably the least culpable of the back-four. Made a couple of key interventions at the far post.
Konstantinos Mavropanos 5
Handed a first league start of the season. Headed Mbeumo's cross into his own net under pressure from Collins.
Nayef Aguerd 5
Went for the same ball as Soucek in comedy of errors leading up to Brentford opener. Fine block denied Maupay a second but then beaten in the air by Collins for goal that put Brentford ahead.
Emerson 4
Torn apart by the brilliant Mbeumo. Could not lay a glove on the winger.
James Ward-Prowse 6
Captained the side in Kurt Zouma's absence and was tidy at the base of a midfield missing Edson Alvarez's security.
Tomas Soucek 5
Dropped into deeper role as a result of Alvarez absence. Booked.
Jarrod Bowen 8
Became the first player to score in the first six away games of a Premier League season. Should have had a fine assist when Antonio missed open goal.
Mohammed Kudus 8
Scored a sensational, acrobatic leveller after Brentford had taken an early lead. Fine work in lead-up to Antonio miss, too.
Said Benrahma 7
Great delivery created second goal. Was racing in for a tap-in when Antonio took ball off his toe.
Michail Antonio 5
Cross set-up Kudus stunner but produced an all-time shocker of a miss when lunging ahead of Benrahma and missing open goal. Surely on borrowed time once Paqueta returns.
Substitutes
Danny Ings (Antonio 64') 5
Sent on with plenty of time to snatch an equaliser but no chance fell his way. Booked.
Pablo Fornals (Benrahma 64') 5
Fired over with big chance to level late on.
Unused: Fabianski, Ogbonna, Kehrer, Cresswell, Johnson Cornet, Mubama
